1月22日のサークルでは、フリートークに続いて、homework の答え合わせの続きをしました。
簡単に解答例をお知らせします

EXCERCISE 11b
1. Did you back up your work / back your work up / back it up?
2. They're cutting off the power / cutting the power off / cutting it off.
3. I dropped off Frank / dropped Frank off / dropped him off at the airport.
4. Mom asked me to take out the garbage / take the garbage out / take it out.
5. Alex tried out his new bicycle / tried his new bicycle out / tried it out.
6. Mile has woken up Ali / woken Ali up / woken him up.

句動詞の目的語を句動詞の後に置く、句動詞に挟む、目的語が代名詞の場合には、後には置けないので挟む。このルールを覚えておけば同じです。

EXCEIRCISE 11c
1. It's a backup camera.
2. It's the cut-off date.
3. He is his backup.
4. I tried it out.
問題では、句動詞ではなく、名詞か複合名詞と指定されているので正解は、I gave it a tryout. となるはずですが、先生はそのような言い方は不自然だと言っていました。
5. They made a follow up.
6. The workout clothes (did).
7. We ate take-out.
8. There was a backup (of cars).
9. There's been a drop-off. / A drop-off.
10. Because she didn't make (have) a back-up.
11. (There is) a drop-off.
12. You (I) gave it a work-out. (これも不自然との事）

EXCERCIXE 11c の問題は、問題のための英語で実用的でないものが多かったようです。
