本日のレッスンの内容下記：

I want to tell my brother to get off my compter, but he's looking up stuff for his report, so I can't tell him anything.

　私は弟に私のPCを使わないで（離れて）と言いたいのだけど彼はレポート用の材料を探しているから　何も言えない。

Get off the computer! You've been on it all day! Nothing on the Internet can be that intersting.

PCから離れなさい。お前は一日中PCを使っているじゃないの、インターネット上でそんなに面白いものがあるはずないよ。（この　that は　副詞で　interesting を修飾しています、意味は”そんなに”ですね）

How many times have I told you to stay off my computer when I'm not home?
I don't want to catch you on it again.

私が家にいないときは　PC　を触っては駄目と何度言ったっけ？　PCをいじってるのを又見つけたくないからね。（これは　親が子供に言っているのでしょうね）

I think him and his girlfriend broke up for good this time, but don't say anything about it tohim. I'm sure it's a pretty touchy subject for him right now.

彼と彼の恋人は今回こそ永遠に分かれると私は思う。でも彼にそのことについて何も言っては駄目ですよ。その件は彼にとって極めてデリケートな話であること受け合いだから。（この英文意味は取れるけど　文法的におかしいですね。I think he and his girlfriend なら　わかるし　或いは　him and his girlfriend broken up ならわかるけどなあ、まあ　言葉って必ずしも　文法通りでないかも）

My doctor told me if my son took these pills that his acne would be gone for good,but it doesn't seem tobe working at all.

医者が私に息子がこの錠剤を飲めばニキビはずっとなくなりますよと言ったけど全く効き目がないみたいだ。（この文章も　これまでに習った文法に照らし合わせるといささか変ですね。何故　IF clause のすぐあとに　that が　入ってくるのだろう。DA　曰く　そうね　変だけど　このように言う由で　説明できないと言う）

I always say that I'm going to quit smoking for good, but I always end up giving in to my urge to smoke.

私は　何時も　タバコをずっと　やめると言うのだけど　何時も　吸いたい衝動に負けてしまうのだ。
